One of the smaller and rougher Y's I've been to. Most of it likely has nothing to do with the employees, who seemed great, but with funding. What appears to be the old building is split into 4 different businesses now with the Y's main entrance being some little side door. The gym is absolutely diminutive, having one squat rack and one small cable crossover machine. It does have 2 benches but no incline and no shoulder press bench. I have tried to handle this privately, but after receiving no response, I am forced to escalate this issue. My membership was canceled without my knowledge or consent simply because my daughter no longer works there — something completely unrelated to my status as a paying member. I have maintained my membership for two years, regularly using the gym, enrolling my children in sports programs, and using the pool. Now I am being told I must reapply and pay another fee, even though my daughter stopped working there months ago.... read more
I’ve been a YMCA member for 5 years and my kids (2 kids) have taken swim lessons year round. The classes themselves are good, but on more than one occasion I was told in front of others that my kids need to stay “right with me.” I am one person with three kids, and one of them has special needs. We also pay for a full family membership and these lessons, which help cover staff salaries, so I expect to be treated with more respect and understanding. Families like mine deserve compassion, not to feel singled out.
Had to get my grandbaby from daycare. Don't go there anymore. But was glad to see the gym is still there.
Staff was very sweet. Excellent pilates class and childcare workers were lovely. Highly recommend.
