I met the CEO literally the moment I came to intake. I was a little surprised that she paid attention to everything I said. Well that’s her job, I thought, as I turned to the staff to check in. They treated me with respect and understanding all the way to the veterans unit. Once again, I thought, they were acting this way just to lock me in. I was an inpatient at PaRC in February 2022, and it truly changed the course of my life. The fellowship of the alumni and staff supported me during one of my darkest seasons and continues to be a source of strength today. Many of the people I met there have become my chosen family. Now, with over four years of sobriety, I return as a volunteer to give back and be of service as part of my recovery program. I will always be grateful for the community, hope, and support the PaRC has to offer.

I attended the PaRC on two separate occasions, and I’ve got multiple friends that have been through the program at different times as well, so my thoughts are based on both personal experience and anecdotal evidence. The Memorial Hermann hospital system used to own this treatment center, and during that time, it had a great reputation in the recovery community. This place changed my life. I was in a dark place mentally and addiction only made things worse. I had never been to treatment before so I had no idea what to expect. From the first call until the time I checked out of this facility, the entire staff was amazing. Someone should answer the phone as soon as you call. By the time you get through all the prompts and the holds, I think it would give me plenty of time to change my mind, feel like they don't really care, hang up, and get wasted. Leave a message?? Speak to AI assistant?? Someone that is desperate and has hit rock bottom does not have time for all that. Now having said this, I was a patient here for years ago and it really saved my life.
