I had an absolutely terrible experience with Public Storage and would not recommend them to anyone. They increased my rent by 150% after only two months, which feels incredibly deceptive. The rate they advertise to get you in the door is clearly not what you can expect to pay long-term. On top of that, the facility itself is poorly maintained. To start with, there are no in person people you can deal with. I reserved a unit at the Friendswood, TX location. When we arrived ready to move in, the code in the app did not work. The “office” only had a virtual kiosk. We stood there for 30 minutes staring at a “someone will be with you shortly” message. No one every came on. I called the “property manager”. No answer. ***DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!*** Our unit was infested with roaches and mice. Half of our belongings had to be thrown away. The manager is non-existent, he does not care about the renters or the facility itself. Every time I call I am sent to voicemail. Do not believe the positive reviews like I did, they are not current and the status of this facility is rapidly declining. **update** I changed my review to 4 stars because the elevator was fixed and move out was very easy to do. I was able to keep the lock so that was a plus, I wasn’t expecting that. It appeared the AC was fixed but not sure if the air quality was better because it was cooler outside. Over all, despite the initial issues I had, it turned out to be a decent place.
