I had an absolutely terrible experience with Public Storage and would not recommend them to anyone. They increased my rent by 150% after only two months, which feels incredibly deceptive. The rate they advertise to get you in the door is clearly not what you can expect to pay long-term. On top of that, the facility itself is poorly maintained. Very disappointing experience — I do not recommend this facility. I paid for a climate-controlled storage unit, but the unit was not maintained as climate controlled. The elevator has also been out of service, making it difficult to access my belongings. On top of that, my rent was increased without what I believe was adequate prior notification. ***DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!*** Our unit was infested with roaches and mice. Half of our belongings had to be thrown away. The manager is non-existent, he does not care about the renters or the facility itself. Every time I call I am sent to voicemail. Do not believe the positive reviews like I did, they are not current and the status of this facility is rapidly declining. To start with, there are no in person people you can deal with. I reserved a unit at the Friendswood, TX location. When we arrived ready to move in, the code in the app did not work. The “office” only had a virtual kiosk. We stood there for 30 minutes staring at a “someone will be with you shortly” message. No one every came on. I called the “property manager”. No answer.
