I went there for what I thought was sciatica from spinal issues. I mentioned that I also have arthritis in my right hip. Instead of figuring out what was happening, they took my $2000 cash, since they don't accept insurance, knowing it would do no good. When I asked Dr Shah what he would do next since it did no good, he said to see a hip surgeon. As soon as I did the surgeon said there clearly was no spinal issues and I need a hip replacement. Denise, I am sorry you felt I took your money. Pain is complex and often multifactorial. Often times there is not only one cause of pain. Hip and spine pain can overlap. I would never treat the spine or any area unless there was a particular issue to treat based on imaging studies. I don't think the treatment I offered went to waste. Treating the spine along with a hip replacement can enhance your recovery and result of the hip replacement.
