If you need to purchase gold or silver, Republic is a very good choice. No hard sales pitch and direct answers to all my questions. My purchase was processed quickly, reviewing each step along the way. BUYERS BEWARE. CHARLATANS. My first experience with Monetary exchange. Sadly not a good one. Went there as instructed by a friend of mine to buy silver. I was told to watch gold and silver ratios then exchange silver for gold and etc.... I was introduced to a gentlemen to whom I explained my intentions. I purchased gold and silver coins from RME in 2013. They sell at retail values but when a customer sells back, they give wholesale values. Very unfair as they also charge a liquidation fee which takes the values down further. This is like buying a car and when you leave the lot, its a depreciated value. Something wrong with this picture. The sales people tell you buying and selling commissions are paid up front, but they withhold any information about liquidation process and/or fees. Terrible customer service. Don't do business with this company if you want your gold bullion delivered in a timely fashion. Promised delivery by Christmas and it didn't happen. Was supposed to be the highlight gift for my family. Apparently the sales rep went on vacation with no back up and no response to my repeated requests for status. Apparently his Christmas was way more important than mine.

We reached out to the client to apologize and offer a concession for his disappointing experience, but have not heard back. We feel that this situation was an anomaly and contrasts our reputation for prompt service and delivery. Unfortunately the salesperson did not initially designate the order as a Christmas rush. Once RME became aware of the situation on 12/23, our shipping department scheduled the package for overnight delivery through UPS. I would not recommend this business to anyone. Investment advice was questionable to say the least. RME does not have fiduciary responsibilty for the customer, so their advice is to benefit the RME sales person not the customer. I purchased a quantity of collector gold coins per their advice, and the value of those coins as soon as you walk out the door with them, drops considerably.
