For trash they are great but if you want to recycle they freaking suck. In the past 6 months they have picked up my recycling can ONE time on the designated day. If I didn't constantly hound them they would never come and get it and it is constantly overflowing. So if you want to recycle make sure there's other people in your neighborhood also recycling otherwise they could care less you actually pick it up. I am disabled and could not get the garbage out. The truck went by 2 houses down. Markus H I yelled too and he walked all the way back and took my can and emptied it and brought it back!! AMAZING Customer service!
The Covington Transfer Station is difficult to use. No mention of special steps to be taken to drop trash off as a Covington Customer online. After already being over a box spring, the attendant said the minimum charge was $42 no matter what. Once I got home, did some further research and google explained you need a voucher from city hall (something not explained on Rumpkes website). Intentionally misleading in the hopes people just pay the fee I’m sure.
This has been the THIRD week in a row that rumpke has not picked up trash for the entire street I live on. Why do we pay every month when I’ve had to call every week to ask them to pick up my trash? And when I called today Melissa told me they would be there today, and obviously that has not happened. Extremely disappointing.
The low stars are for customer service only. Trash guys do a great job and are friendly. But customer service had a bad attitude today when I called about a billing issue and seemed annoyed when it was most definitely their mix up not mine. She had zero interest in trying to correct the issue so ultimately I’ll have to still pay for their error.
