It’s honestly embarrassing that Madison County and nearby areas rely on Rumpke to serve their residents. Their business model is mediocre at best , disorganized, unresponsive, and completely lacking in accountability. If you request curbside trash pickup, prepare to wait weeks without a clear answer on when (or if) it’ll happen. I’ve had to call them over five times just to get a basic service fulfilled, and still nothing. Trash pick up has been reliable but I just had a driver blow through a light when there was an accident literally on the opposite side of the road and Rumpke provides no way to contact them and report the driver.
Why is the transfer station always closed when it's supposed to be open? If the hours have changed, please update the website! This is the second time the gates are locked in the third Saturday at 8 am! It's almost 9 and they are still not open. ZERO STARS. The Garrard County transfer station has failed to pick up my trash 8 weeks so far this year. We are in week 9, so all but one week Rumpke has failed to pick up my trash. I have called every single week and have been assured it will not happen again, only for Rumpke to miss my pick up the next week. I’ve tried to remedy this sitstuon every way possible but nothing works. I’m at the point of cancelling my service because you all have been so bad. We have been using Rumpke for many years. I have always been pleased with their service. Lately, for some reason, they have been closing the lids on our cans. That is very nice, so that they do not get filled up with water when it rains. In the future it would be nice to have the garbage can come with a few holes in the bottom. We had to do that with our garbage cans to keep water from filling the cans up in the past. Thank you for doing such a great job Rumpke.
