I felt welcome by staff. They seemed genuinely concerned about my issue. My wait was less than 1 minute. The nurse was comforting and even held my hand during the procedure. The doctor talked me through his every move. He was very calm, patient and understanding. I'm more than thankful for choosing this facility. 👍🏽👍🏽
I was going n vacation on the Island and started experiencing severe abdominal pain and vomiting. I was seen immediately. The staff was very kind, compassionate and genuinely cared. I felt I received top notch medical care. I felt seen and heard and the problem was diagnosed. Experience was easy going, and I was not held longer than I had to be to be treated and advised. BUT the ER Dr. was very snippy and was disengaged which is a cause for my own health concern. I had questions to cross check what information I understood was correct. That was necessary so that I treated my condition to be treated properly, and if I hadn’t done that I would be making mistakes. It was like he didn’t have time to explain what I needed to know. Overall, he was uninterested and detached.
Four days before we were scheduled to leave Kauai, my wife had an urgent medical issue that we hoped to resolve before our flight. The staff at SMMH ER, offered so much Aloha in greeting us and guiding us through the procedures to put us at ease before we left this beautiful island. We were treated way beyond or expectations! This might be one of our best memories of Kauai.
I came in because I had really bad pain IN my eye. It was debilitating. Doctor came in and spoke with me for 2 minutes and misdiagnosed me with a migraine and sent me home with a $1500.00 bill no medication and still with a bad pain in my eye.
