Darian was great!! I highly recommend opening an account with her. She was very hospitable and knowledgeable. I appreciate her approach with young adults opening any account for the first time. You can tell she genuinely wants her clients to use their account(s) efficiently. I’m grateful for how patient she was, too. I look forward to working with her when I switch over. I will be recommending family and friends to her, as well.
After being a member for 12 years I closed my account earlier this month, due to an upcoming move overseas. Banking at SECU was a so-so experience. On one hand I never had a major issue. Never had to pay a monthly fee as I had direct deposit. The SECU app was easy to use and mobile check deposits always went through without a hiccup. the Ellicott City branch has reduced hours. there is not an indoor ATM. I don't drive so I had the displeasure of standing outside in the smeltering heat trying to do my business. the ATM at Target only lets you get $300 withdrawal. there is too much turnover of staff.
I just came from Ellicott city Secu. I walked in to an empty bank, there was 2 ladies that was working in there . One was an older short lady with dark hair. And another lady who was overweight with long shoulder length brownish color hair. With a black dress on. When I walked in I inquired about opening a new business account. In which I was told that I had to make an appointment and walk ins were not allowed. I came to the Ellicott city location as a walk in with NO OTHER PATRON in the building. The staffer said they were about to have a meeting and then head right into another appointment and there would be no room to see me. Thats bad business practice. Patrons should be FIRST PRIORITY and the lady should have been excused while she tended to my needs of opening a new account. I will be using them for the bare minimum from here on out.
