It’s been a while since I’ve been to the Rio, so I was really excited to check out the Canteen food hall. Out of all the restaurants, I decided to go with the Ramen spot. I ordered directly through the kiosk which made the process go smoothly. After 10-15 minutes I received the text letting me know that my food was ready for pickup. Ramen: We ordered the shogun ramen. The broth did lack a little depth and umami, the egg was cooked perfectly, the pork was a little pale and lacked the crispness I am used to but did melt in the mouth, the noodles were the more thin type and slightly aldente. Their Shogun Ramen signature bowl is one of my top favorites. It does have same flavor profile as from their other 2 locations. The aesthetic of this place is excellent . Unfortunately my ramen did not came with nori and tamago as they might have ran out that day. I wish they had offered to replace them with other toppings.
I ordered regular shogun ramen. Sorry to say it, but this is the worst ramen noodles I have ever tasted, both New York City and Miami offer much better choices. The broth tasted super fat. The noodles tasted half raw. And the pork had too much fat on it. I couldn’t finish the bowl. Started it and just couldn’t after a few bites.. I ended up throwing it away. Should have had a sandwich next door. Maybe I am just used more authentic food found in NYC. The staff was great though.
Friendly staff. I ordered the Shogun Ramen. The broth was tasty and flavorful. I enjoyed the egg and pork. I wasn’t a big fan of the noodles so I didn’t eat them (I think they have different noodle options based on the dish- so if I went again I would ask for different noodles). My biggest complaint is that it took a while to order (the cashier wasn’t there so I had to make an account using a QR code) and enter in my credit card information manually. It took a while to create an account and when I finally completed my orde... read more
