It was AWFUL 😖 I had to leave. They left me sit in a room by myself for 6 hours and I wasn't even admitted yet, by 10:30 pm. They still didn't have my med list, insurance info and I hadn't signed any ROIs or even talked about my providers. The questions were not trauma informed. It was literally a nightmare. I had to beg to leave and they tried to chapter 51 me. They didn't know what they were doing AT ALL. Completely traumatizing. Every member of staff was empathetic and understanding and amazingly helpful. The beds were comfy too. Good food, nice schedule, great people. This place was great for my mental health and getting back on my feet with the right meds for my needs, and the medical staff care about your physical health aswell and mental health. I recommend this place for sure to anyone struggling. Units are cold at night so bring comfy warm clothing. Sadly no stuffed animals allowed but I survived nonetheless.
Advocate for yourself even if noone believes you. Know your rights and dont worry what anyone thinks. They got me on new meds and im grateful for that but it was a struggle. I've been to 4 mental health institutions multiple times there all the same but this time I refused to not be present and I advocated for myself. Maybe better HR would help or just time. I mean once upon a time hospitals for the mentally ill were much worse.
5 stars isn’t enough to rate this place. The staff and doctors were all amazing and showed genuine care for patients. It restored my faith in getting help again
