I had an excellent experience at Shoshone Medical Center. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted promptly and made to feel welcome. The check-in process was quick and efficient, and I was impressed by how organized the staff was throughout my visit. I was referred to SMC for an x-ray. I was checked in immediately and the tech came and got me within 5 minutes after sitting down in the waiting room. The x-ray was finished in a matter of 10 minutes, and I was out the door. The staff was courteous and proficient while helping me. I had a call with results from the ordering physician within an hour. This was a pleasant experience overall.

I cut my hand and needed stitches. I was there 3 hours. I waited 2 hours to see the dr. Then after the stitches the nurse was supposed to come right in and put a compression bandage on. After waiting another hour for a nurse, I finally flagged down a person to take the blood pressure cup off. Then the nurse finally came in with release papers. I told her I was supposed to get a pressure bandage and she said Noone told her. Really! Not a horrible experience, but shouldn't have taken the nurse so long to come wrap my hand. .

I love my doctor at Shoshone Medical Center ( Dr. K. Kuipers). She is kind, caring, and genuinely listens to me. The clinic in Smelterville is always clean, neat, and tidy. The staff is welcoming and very friendly. I rate my medical care as excellent!

If I could give zero stars I would. My daughter (3 years old) was seen because she was extremely sick, high fevers, waking up screaming in pain, lethargic, no output, eyes weeping with discharge; just not doing well. The ED doctor we saw completely ignored everything I was saying, telling me it was just viral. I’m not a first time parent and I’m in the medical field, but he treated me like I knew nothing.
