I rented a 65 sqft unit in Shurgard Fiveways for a year to facilitate a house move. Pros - The on-site team were initially helpful, but were removed shortly after I moved in so this no longer applies. - The unit comfortably accommodated my furniture (from a 49 sqm flat with garage) and it all emerged intact in spite of the Fiveways rodent population - see images/below. - Multiple keys provided with Shurgard lock. - Email response times were quick. Avoid Shurgard at All Costs – Disgusting Conditions & Terrible Customer Service If I could give zero stars, I would. My storage unit at Shurgard was infested with mouse feces and urine. They ignored my complaint for weeks in order to avoid processing my insurance claim. They haven’t apologised once and they don’t care about taking responsibility for the damage. The service from the staff was good and informative from the first day I walk into their office, the staff showed me around the various size units and everything was excellent. I have used shurgard before and have found them an excellent establishment.
-Huge lack of security on the floors and units - There is no one at the office - security cameras are only on by lifts at the units - costumer service is a joke - prices are extremely high - lifts and door gates are broken down Avoid Avoid Avoid
After driving all the way from Canterbury after booking my storage and paying for it I was unable to gain access to the locker even after being given the access codes and no indication of why I couldn’t enter. I’d also driven in when the door was open as I thought nothing of it and I was unable to exit! Can you imagine being unable to exit a facility?
