The only positive I’ve had was Dan that works at the Southampton building. The units are boiling, and I would imagine freezing in winter. Shurgard do not tell you when signing the contract, unless you go through all the small T&C’s, you must email a cancellation 15 days before the invoice date. Do not think that even because you communicated you only need one month storage, they will trick you into paying more. We used this location for nearly a year, from when it started as Lok'n'Store to the change to Shurgard. Thankfully they kept the team, and they are all absolutely amazing. Shurgard were lucky to take them on, they really know how to make customers feel great -so a big shout out to Jack, Dan, Sue and especially Mackenzie who on our last day was really supportive, and helpful in making everything end well for us.
Absolutely awful customer service. Baring in mind I pay over £100 a month now to have a storage unit with them and it says access is until 9pm… last night (I had work until 7) we had to move things into the storage unit but were finished and leaving dead on 9pm. The gate did not open so we ended up having to wait nearly 2 hours for a guard to come and open the gate and then this morning have been told we have to pay £100 charge for that… the guy on the phone even said “access is until 9pm but you need to leave by 10 to 9” wh... read more
The team at Shurgard in Southampton have been so helpful and friendly since we arrived with them a year ago. They helped us with our requests and made our time with them very easy. Special mention to Mackenzie who really helped us out as we were leaving!
I rented a storage unit for 2 months. After two months I returned the storage unit according to the agreement but I was charged for the third month because I did not terminate the contract 15 days earlier. The problem is that no one informed me about it. It is not fair. I have bad experiences and I recommend being careful and asking about everything because it is obvious that they will not tell you everything that is important.
