I've dealt with depression and PTSD as long as I can remember. I've been in talk therapy and taking psychotropic meds most of my adult life. In my early 50s, I was pounded with work and relationship-related stress that caused me to go into a suicidal spiral. I was a successful professional, yet I grew hopeless and tired of the cycle of endless series of challenges and rebounds. The Skylanders Trail staff, other clients, classes, and individualized counseling helped break the cycle and gave me focus I was looking for.

I will be honest. When I first walked through the doors of Skyland Trails I did not think I needed to be there. I walked out able to identify my issues and take ownership of my behaviours and actions. I now know what my disability is and how to function with a . Yes there are bad days and I have skills to conquer those road bumps life hands me today. Thank you to my team who did not give up on me! I am blessed to have you in my tool kit still to this day!

Fantastic program, but you must be ready and willing to work hard to get better. Everything about them is nearly flawless, just have trust them, and that comes in good time. Be open minded, be ready to accept help, but most of all be ready to be vulnerable. You will make life long friends here, garunteed.

Because of Skyland Trails I found the natural artist within. Thanks to The Art Therapy Departmant and the quick assessments of the counsellors I found my love of the Arts. I am currently the local Artist on the Artist Spotlight on the Conyers Rockdale Counsel for the Arts website. Thank you Skyland Trails. Presently living in Conyers, GA local artist and Registered Nurse Shannon Perkins was born in New Haven, CT. Shannon was introduced to her love of art through the Art Therapy department within Skyland Trails Day Treatment ... read more

I was at Skyland from September up until this past February. While there I had a lot of ups and downs. I wish that I was more focused on my treatment while during my time there. But I look back now and I really appreciate Skyland Trail for all it has done for me. The staff had my best interest at heart. They supported me through the tough times; teaching me how to cope with my feelings and communicate with others in a healthier way. I have taken the skills that I learned and have applied them to my life. Though I didn't show... read more
