My 7 and 9 year old do a variety of summer camps each summer, and they always put their Slowfire weeks at the top when they assess their favorite camps at the end of the summer. I think it's a combo of the fun and warm counselors, creatively stimulating projects, and free time to make and play with new friends. The only con is that, after several weeks of Slowfire camps over the years, we're running out of space for all the cool artwork!
This is my daughter's second year at Slowfire Summer Camp. She says it's her favorite camp of the summer. The staff is so fun and kind to everyone there. They want to make sure all of the kids have a great and memorable experience. The mix of art and music is perfect for my daughter. I would without any doubt recommend this camp to anyone interested in an incredibly fun art and music camp. Thank you, Slowfire!
Slowfire hosted our Dominican University Borra College of Health Sciences Leadership 2024 Holiday Wheel Throwing Party on December 19th, 2024. Noelle, Steven, and Jeny guided us through the class and were so helpful and patient. It was fun and they were wonderful hosts! They even set up our tablecloth and sandwiches/beverages/and cookies we brought. We had aprons made by a friend of Noelle’s, Brieanne Maldonado, for gifts for each person that attended and they were just lovely. Everyone in our group loved this event and... read more
My 8 year old daughter did the Eras Tour camp this summer, and absolutely loved it. She bounced awake each day, excited to go to camp. She generally enjoys art, so had a lot of fun in the two art sessions each day. But our biggest surprise was how into the music class she got! She wants to continue taking music classes in the fall. She also made new friends at the camp. It was just generally such a positive camp experience, we’ll definitely be signing up again next summer!
My 10-year old rated this camp 5 stars, without hesitation. She loved the variety of activities and the small size of the group. As a parent, I was impressed by the creative activities they came up with. Note that she only did one week of the camp, so I'm not sure how repetitive it might be to do many weeks in a row.
