Slowfire hosted our Dominican University Borra College of Health Sciences Leadership 2024 Holiday Wheel Throwing Party on December 19th, 2024. Noelle, Steven, and Jeny guided us through the class and were so helpful and patient. It was fun and they were wonderful hosts! They even set up our tablecloth and sandwiches/beverages/and cookies we brought. My 8 year old daughter did the Eras Tour camp this summer, and absolutely loved it. She bounced awake each day, excited to go to camp. She generally enjoys art, so had a lot of fun in the two art sessions each day. But our biggest surprise was how into the music class she got! She wants to continue taking music classes in the fall. She also made new friends at the camp. It was just generally such a positive camp experience, we’ll definitely be signing up again next summer!
My 12-year-old daughter has a teen membership here, and we couldn’t be happier! The instructors are incredibly helpful and kind, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for young artists. They always have great music playing, which makes the space feel fun and relaxed. Not only does my daughter love coming with her friend, but she’s also made new friends along the way. I've taken 2 adult pottery classes and it's been terrific! Steven is a great instructor and had us throwing on the wheel our very first session. This course was the highlight of my week all winter! Great classmates, terrific environment, and fantastic teacher. Can't recommend highly enough! Photos from my first 7 week class projects, amazing to me as a newbie.
I've been taking adult ceramics classes since June 2024 at Slowfire and they are absolutely wonderful! I started as a complete beginner who had literally never touched a pottery wheel before, and under their patient and knowledgeable tutelage I've come pretty far in the past 9 months.
