I have been a patient at Smilow Cancer Canter for three years. I cannot say enough for this facility. They have been more than professional and compassionate when working with me after I had my kidney transplant and needed a top-notch. facility to monitor my blood levels . The doctors, nurses and PAs, as well as supporting staff are dedicated to providing the best of care. I consider them. One of my great blessings as I pass the third year post kidney transplant. Very pleased with Dr. Donadio so far. Very kind and thorough. Receptionists were just ok, not overly welcoming, too busy watching tv and talking to each other. Wait time was over a half an hour which was a little disappointing. Would like to see the building updated. Seems very dated compared with others cancer centers in the area.
The staff there is amazing . The PA Maddy came to check in on me because I was having stayed in both of my eyes. But they got me on meds to help. Then while I was there for treatment after my premeds. My sensor my blood sugar went off. 58 nurse Kim and Nicola did finger stick got me juice and peanut butter and crackers. Nicola even went down and got me a sandwich at Panera with orange juice. They made sure my levels were in the right place before they gave me treatment. I am glad I was there when it happened. The entire experience was so professional and pleasant. Before we even finished checking in we were being called to see the NP Colleen Tripp. She was absolutely amazing. Had clearly read a large medical file prior to seeing us and really knew her stuff. The visit was for our young adult son with special needs and she was very good with him. She also listened extremely well and was genuinely interested in all the information we presented. Overall, my visit went really well. Everyone I interacted with was kind, patient, and professional, and I felt confident in the care I received. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to offer a patient feedback survey after discharge. I had a couple of thoughts that would be more helpful in a private survey than in a general review, and it would make sharing feedback much easier.
