We decided to switch dentist and find a provider who will understand us and especially my daughter who has special needs. We met Dr Mark Herring. Dr Herring has an amazing bedside manner and took his time with us providing thoughtful considerations and guidance regarding my daughter's condition having Down Syndrome and the dental struggles we're having. My daughter had her first visit today for a cleaning, from the front of the office to the hygienist, Dr. Herring and his team were amazing. Very helpful, informative, and most of all professional. Diana was our hygienist for the day, and she was very patient and kind to my 6 year old daughter. She eased her mind and cued her for directions to follow. My 5 y/o and 2 y/o visited Southern Smiles for the first time after they were highly recommended to us and they both had great experiences. The entire staff including the dr were kind, patient and professional. Their layout made it easy to sit with both of my kids while they got their cleanings and exams. My 5 y/o was also comfortable enough to go get her x-rays done without me while I stayed with little brother. Dr. Mark was amazing with my 2 teenagers. He was kind, very knowledgeable , thorough, answered all of our questions, and explained everything very well to both of them, as well as to me. During one of my son’s routine cleaning, Dr. Mark identified and issue which he was able to take care of and accommodate at the end of his visit instead of making us come back for another appointment, despite the office being very busy. This is an update to the review included below. Dr. Herring took time out of his weekend schedule to have a phone conversation with me to clarify his stance regarding this situation. He takes a lot of pride in wanting to understand the WHY with cases where patient satisfaction wasn't ideal.
