RecommendedDr. Heather Serwon is simply an amazing Veterinarian. So I took Frodo in for an appointment the other day to get his leg looked at. On Aug 4th 2023, I had to make the difficult decision to lay our 9 year old chocolate lab, Xena l, to rest. I had called several at home euthanasia services, but no one was available. It was one pm and I didn’t want Xena to suffer anymore. I called Tacoma Animal hospital and they got me an appointment within an hour. Dr. Hughes and Tyler were such a big help to myself and my dog. We had been to 2 other hospitals for an emergency situation and turned away due to no doctors. I was able to get my fur baby in that same day and they took such good care of him. The front office staff were great at communicating with me during the appointment process. Great place and very caring. Thank you again!
Very helpful and accommodating staff. As a long time dog owner, I’ve experienced my fair share of getting them spayed and neutered and this is by far the easiest experience I’ve had. The stitching is clean, no swelling for bruising which is pretty rare. I have yet to meet his vet due to Covid 19 protocols but she seems wonderful!
Tacoma Animal Hospital really is amazing! The staff is so warm and welcoming, and they really went above and beyond in the way they treated us and our cat Peach. They made sure to bring us such detailed estimates for her treatment needed, explained everything super well, and they answered any questions we had about her care. People talked about long wait time in their reviews, so we were fully prepared to spend at least a couple hours there waiting for an opening for Peach to be seen. I have hesitated to write this review, because you guys are already too busy, but I moved to Olympia & feel like I can risk it now. Dr. Hughs may be the best veterinarian there is. She treats each pet that comes to her, as if they were her own. She individualizes plans for the care that is best for them. When it is too much money, she helps you to decide what is most necessary. She cares about pet parents & is compassionate & sensitive to your needs. Her support has been phenomenal through the loss of my babies.

Dr. Hughes and her staff were available when i needed to put my senior dog out of his pain and misery. They showed empathy and compassion from the get go. We truly appreciate their kindness and bed side manner in this devastating situation. I will be taking all my pets to her for their routine care and health needs. Thank you Dr. Hughes and staff!
