The Texas Girls' Choir was founded in 1962 by Shirley Thompson Carter with a vision to enrich children's lives through music. The choir was started with just 16 girls, and at times has had over 250 active members across six choir levels and two Bell Choirs. In 1973, the choir secured a permanent home on Camp Bowie Boulevard, with facilities including a concert hall, classrooms, and offices. TGC is such a great place for girls! Gives them a great place to make friends for life, and have wonderful musical experiences.
My daughter has been in the choir for 5 years, and I was in the choir for 4 years as a child. This organization shaped me into the person I am today, and I am grateful that my daughter is able to grow up here as well. The choir is a great place for girls to learn music performance, and also to find life long friends and to grow into our future leaders. Highly recommend to any parent!
This program is great for girls. Its not just singing either. Its teaching values of how to become a lady. If only our public schools had such programs.
Love this place and everything they've done for my daughter who was super shy before joining. Now she has a ton of friends she can't wait to see at rehearsals and all of the other fun activities they do. This place has an amazing history and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend if you have a daughter who likes to sing and perform.
I grew up here, now my daughter gets to have those same experiences. It's like no other organization for girls. Memories and friends that last a lifetime! I love all that TGC offers their members.
