Dr. Virk and Dr. kowashima are the only doctors so far that were able to figure out what was causing me to have chronic pain in my upper body, face and head. They have been very informative and have provided me so many options when it comes to tackling my issues. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for an amazing TMJ/migraine practice.
I was seen by Dr. K for TMJ. She did not know how to help me. She ordered expensive oral appliances for me, but they only made me worse. Her solution to this was giving me injections to numb the pain. These only numb the area for about two weeks and are expensive as well. She didn't even answer my last message regarding the lack of progress and pain. I wasted my medical benefit on her services and had to go to another professional and pay all out of pocket. Dr. Virk is a true specialist who is thorough in his questions and exams to ensure he leads his patient down the right path of treatment. He listens carefully to ensure he understands the problem and asks clarifying questions, which I have found to be very helpful. He is clear on the goals and makes sure we are aligned on what success is and the plan to get there. His staff is friendly and responsive, making scheduling/rescheduling easy. I highly recommend if you suffer from TMJ.
Dr. Virk takes his time and listens to my comments or concerns and addresses each of them. Not in a rush to either medicate or recommend surgery without due diligence and time to see if alternative treatments may help. His staff is also friendly and professional!
