I visited The Grand by Concerto on the Strand yesterday and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. There was no greeting or welcome when I arrived. I went to the bar and spoke to Vinod, who was very helpful after I explained that I had a Fork reservation. He was the only member of staff who made me feel looked after, so a big thank you to him. Maitre D was excellent and super friendly. Service outstanding and the place is lovely. Food was good, not great. We had fish and chips and tabbouleh salad. It is expensive. They offer afternoon teas here which we may do next time.

The Grand Caffe Concerto at the Strand is a wonderful place for any time of the day. The staff are always welcoming. Jose especially is a great host, he remembers a face and a name. The cakes are delicious for an afternoon tea. And if you’re in the city centre for work, it’s a great spot for breakfast. I had an excellent porridge with almond milk with fruit. The restaurant has a very luxurious and beautiful décor, which is what encouraged us to visit for breakfast. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the appearance. I ordered smoked fish toast with eggs as stated on the menu, but the dish arrived without the eggs. The eggs were brought separately later, and by that time the food was already cold.
