We ordered two souvlaki (kebab) plates: steak medium rare and lamb medium well. Both were cooked to perfection and went sooo well with the yogurt dip. I highly recommend the rice pilaf! We also got the gyro meat gyro which was much larger than I expected. The meat is well seasoned and not dry at all, unlike other Greek places I’ve tried. What a fantastic experience at The Great Greek in Oceanside! We arrived at closing time, and not only did they graciously stay open for us, but they also treated us with genuine kindness and hospitality. The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I came by for the first time and was immediately blown away by the friendly atmosphere!! Several employees warmly greeted upon entering the restaurant. I ordered the Greek Salad with a chicken skewer; there was a longer wait due to it being busy + a lunch rush, and the gentleman that gave me my order offered a side of their rice pudding as a token if appreciation for my patience. The best Greek food in San Diego county! We stopped here to check it out and loved it all. We had Gyro meat plate, Greek salad and feta fries. Sam, the owner, is very friendly and a great guy to chat with. I can't wait to come back!
I really enjoyed this place. They serve fresh food, the service is great and the atmosphere was good. My 7 year old daughter also enjoyed her food from the kids menu. I’m rating The Great Greek five stars!
