Since our founding in 1985, our experts have been dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of patients suffering from complex dental problems, TMJ and sleep breathing disorders. It is estimated that millions of Americans suffer from these types of disorders at any given time, and many go undiagnosed due to the symptoms that may seem unrelated to the jaw joints and muscles, such as headaches, neck and back aches, ear aches, tooth wear and breakage, snoring and sleep apnea. Due to the complexity of these disorders, it is... read more

Dr Pointkowski is an excellent dentist. I went to him after experiencing constant headaches and jaw pain for several years. He diagnosed me as having TMD. He took great care in diagnosing my condition and recommended three options for treatment. I chose the least invasive, which was an appliance that would move my jaw back into alignment. It took two years to complete the transition, but it was totally worth it and I am now out of pain. In addition, my teeth are straighter and look great! Yes, it was expensive and he does no... read more
Dr. Piontowski fixed me from Day one. I had headaches that would not go away and it turned out my jaws weren't aligned properly. He customized a plan to my mouth specifically which I never got anywhere else, and by doing that it has correct my jaw, fixed my bite, and straightened my teeth beyond my expectations. The office and staff are so kind and make you feel so warm and comfortable. Everyone is always so pleasant and they all really do care about each patient. I'll never go anywhere else.
I second the opinion of the user who said this dentist's fees are outrageous and that he only cares about money. Do not go to this dentist! Not only did he fleece me, but he made my TMJ worse!
After 5 months of seeing Dr. Piontkowski's, my TMJ worse than when I started and I was $8,000 poorer. It's telling that although his practice is called Washington Sleep and TMJ Center, you won't find a single positive review of Dr. Piontkowski for TMJ. His charges are outrageous and he doesn't disclose them upfront. Worst mistake of my life to go this greedy and incompetent practitioner.
If you are being told to get a CPAP machine. STOP and read this! Dr Paul Piontkowski is a miracle worker. After Dr Piontkowski made my husband a sleep appliance he slept so soundly last night that I had to check to make sure he was alive and next to me! You know when the power goes out and you realize how quiet the house actually is? That is exactly how I felt last night. As soon as my husband put in the appliance and drifted off to sleep--it. was. so. quiet. I guess I didn't realize how loud he really was. He woke up the ne... read more
Please, do not ever go to Dr. Piontowski. He only cares about money. I had terrible TMJ and went to him after my dentist's recommendation. I had tried many other services and felt that he was the last resort for my TMJ, which is why I paid the outrageous out of pocket fees. At every appointment, he tried to tell me I needed another appliance made (that would of course be another thousand dollars). After spending too much money and no paid relief, I finally realized he only cares about gauging hi
I consulted him in Nov 2011 after my dentist suspected TMJ disorder due to popping/clicking and pain. From then until Feb 2016, I was treated and it cost me more than $15K, $10K for braces, and the rest for orthotics and adjustments and palate expansion. He has more than 35 years of experience but I am not totally satisfied with the outcome. I have more jaw pain and my teeth are not where I would have liked them to be. I have since consulted other dentists and a new TMJ Specialist.
