Took two of my cats to the Hurst location concerned that they both had had diarrhea for a week and they were “unable” to obtain fecal samples from either cat and sent me home with a tube to collect it myself. I collected it but before I went to deliver it to the vet, my cat also started throwing up. What an awful experience. I took my new puppy for his second set of shots, first time for me as the breeder got his first set. He had had a little bit of diarrhea during the day, I could not go in with him, I was called and told that he had parvo. He had not acted sick, had been eating and drinking and playing all day. The recommendation was to take him to an emergency vet clinic to the tune of $800 to $1,000 minimum. So where do I begin. Let’s start with where is the middle ground for your dog. Apparently you can see a vet in two incidences, an Emergency room animal hospital for life saving care or make an appointment because you dog has fallen ill and you were able to plan well in advance. But what about the dog who has gone on exceeding the 48 hour mark of vomiting only mucus and bile? How about the dog that has tried to drink water 10 mins later vomits it all up and then some?
