I want to take a moment to thank the Thriveworks team, specifically Curtis Thornton, for the last year and half. When i started treatment with Curtis in 2023, I struggled with anger, self worth, communication, and identifying my emotions. He helped guide me through these struggles and today i feel like a new man. Curtis Thornton was a great therapist for marriage counseling. I definitely felt heard, seen and valued through his practice. He also helped to facilitate meaningful and productive conversations. I also liked that he gave “homework” assignments that were substantive in purpose and not just arbitrary.
My first experience with Darla was very top notch, direct and extremely professional. I have another follow up in 2 weeks. After speaking to me for an hour the counselor stated that she felt very confident that she could help me. I left the session feeling that I finally can get the targeted help I need.
Scheduled first appointment weeks in advance. Took them several weeks to check my insurance. The day before appointment they cancel the appointment with the reasoning that it’s out of network via text. If I could give them negative stars I would
I went to couples counseling with Curtis from 2023 to 2024 and couldn't be happier with the experience. He was able to help us find and work on the tools we needed to improve our communication, respect, and begin working as a team rather quickly. We then moved on to strengthening our bond and commitment with activities, exercises, and home work culminating in having us write our own vows.
