Today was my 1st session. My intro session was very welcoming which made me excited and eagered to meet with my counselor on a deeper level. Surprisingly, I didn't have any problems opening up. Ms. Ella was very easy to talk to and I believe it's because she was folksy enough for me to just relax and be myself. Now I will say, she does seem like she is not afraid to be honest or spill the truth on you. I like that. I need that. I don't need anymore pacifiers in my life.
Shawanda was excellent. She quickly understood my issues and problem. She listened so well and developed some solid ideas and action items for me to move forward. It was a very helpful session which didn't feel rushed. She also didn't press for more sessions which was an unexpected plus too.
The personal counselor I had was NOT it. Her name is Ebony Allen. First meeting she showed up 10 minutes late, with no explanation. Then for our second meeting we didn’t have one. Yes, she was dealing with a situation but, if I didn’t make a first good impression on my patient I would try even better next time. I didn’t want a constant cycle of not being able to trust whether or not I’d have a session or not. I’m taking days off of work dedicated to this.
