Nice to talk to these people who are in stark contrast to the homeless people plaguing the walk way. Had a watched changed and they fitted a free pin, I may buy a strap but you may be surprised by the services of such a little shop such as phone repairs, house signs, dry cleaning, shoes and watch repairs.
I think the big gentleman is usually helpful. He even helped me with extras on my watch last time I popped in. However, yesterday's (22/9/2025) experience was terrible. He other chap who was there didnt offer help at all. I arrived there at 17:45 knowing that shop closes at 18:00. It was to change a watch battery. This chap had 15 minutes to do it but said, he needs 20 mins which will take him past 6pm and he needs to clock out at 6pm. What kind of service is this. Is he there just to clock in and clock out? Do Not use this shop. The people in there are criminals and scammed me into paying over £994. I have learning difficulties and this isn’t an excuse and I know it was wrong but due to personal issues due to someone damaging my bicycle and he got away with it. (Caused £300 of damage) I knocked over one of the owners motorbikes but: 1. If it had been on the centre stand it wouldn’t of fallen over 2. There’s no way damage to a petrol tank costs £994. I went to Timpsons reading West tesco portman road with my 12 year old son and his drum belt. The gentleman was so patient and helpful. He listened to us and sorted out the belt for us.
A huge thank you to the chap working here, I came with a key which was twice already cut in Sainsburys Calcot but never even managed to get on the keyhole. When I arrived at the shop and explained my problem I was served very professionally and most importantly the key actually worked. I will be coming here from now on
