I have been a regular customer of Timpsons for years, but after my recent experience, I won't be returning. I paid £20 to have the battery replaced in my car key. The key was still playing up afterwards, and my car dealer advised that the key itself needed replacing. The battery had only been in the key for just over a day and the key had not been used, so I politely asked if they would refund the battery. The service is more 'alright mate' than 'how can I help you sir', you shall know which you find most appropriate. The keys are fantastically overpriced, and when I bought a standard small key for £9, it wouldn't even fit in the lock. It's not a one star review because it is good to have such facilities available, but essentially worthless if they can't do a basic job right while overcharging you for the inconvenience.
I got an old pair of shoes given me to my now dead grandfather that were really worn. Took them to these guys and they did such a good job repairing them that I actually cried when I wore them for the first time after the repair. The guy did a full resole and heel fix, and made sure that the colour matched the main body of the boot - a tiny consideration that actually made a huge difference. These bad boys are going to last for years to come and I couldn't be happier!
I'm leaving multiple reviews in one as the service has been outstanding every time I've used these guys, but I've never left one before (and not sure if I'll be able to leave multiple reviews on the same day). I've used them for resoling boots and shoes, having keys cut and have always been happy. The person who was working at timpson at tescos on Sunday 14th September was absolutely wonderful. I had major problems with car key and he went above and beyond to help us, such a kind person and so grateful for all his support and advice . Thankyou 😊
