Took my LK Bennett boots to Timpson (Colney Hatch Lane) before Christmas to glue a slightly lifting sole at the toe. Paid £11, got them home and was shocked because the toe wasn’t glued at all, but my heels had been replaced with thick rubber stapled on (without my consent). After trips back, more delays, I finally went to collect them on 13 Jan and the heels were damaged. When I asked for a remedy, I was told to “go and buy a pair in Tesco”. Unacceptable service.
I took an expensive Hobbs ladies jacket in for dry cleaning. When I went to pick it up a week later it was covered in stains in between the stitching, dark marks everywhere. I asked the man and he said that I could take it somewhere else and get a quote and if authorised they would pay upto £25 towards a new dry clean. Few days ago I went to Tesco at Colney Hatch. When I finished shopping, outside the supermarket I saw a Timpson kiosk! I went in and a wanted a key cut for my son, I asked the one with Arsenal Logo! I came home and tried, wasn’t working! Called Timpson, the gentleman who served me said to go back and he will do it again! Brought 2 shoes for heel repair at the beginning of december. The job was badly botched on both pairs. I asked for corrections, we're now mid January, both pairs still 'being worked on' but based on what I've seen when I just went to check in this morning they are now looking worse and possibly beyond saving. Giving Timpsons a last chance, then will ask for money back.
Was served by Messi who fixed my car key without a fuss ....having tried ,without success, in several other places it was a pleasure to be served by such efficiency. Thank you Messi ! A great advert for the company.
