Customer service ???? My daughter had taken in a key to be copied which they hadn't got in stock so they said they would order some and call her when they were in. My daughter rang the shop a couple of times during the week and got no reply and asked if I could call in for her. I rang first and there was no answer so went to the shop. Awful service just now at Timpson Daventry when we went in for a new watch battery. Usual guy was on his personal mobile outside the shop. Young lad serving seemed inexperienced, no eye contact or conversation. Proceeded to try to open the watch before even giving us a price. When we requested this the other guy reluctantly came off his phone to advise. The young lad then took ages to remove the watch back. He didn’t seem to know what he was doing. Took in a watch for a new battery and got talked into having a lifetime battery which I now regret agreeing to. Told it would be an hour, so collected it after then. On next wearing the watch, a few days later, realised it was scratching my wrist. There was a sharp edge, obviously where it had been prised open to change the battery. I took it back to the shop and he as good as said I was making a fuss about nothing. But I explained it was fine to wear before the new battery was put in but not now! His attitude was awful. I called into Daventry Sheaf Street needing an "urgent" shoe repair (clearly this was not life or death, but mattered to me). Clint "The Naked Cobbler" did an excellent job. He re-heeled my shoes within half an hour (as he said he would) and went above and beyond to clean them and make them look almost as good as new (not badfor a shoes over 20 years old!) - thank you - great service which is what I always expect from Timpson and you never let me down. : )
Very disappointing service this morning. The staff are usually so friendly but not this guy. Went in asking for a key cut, on crutches after op so a friend dropped me in and was waiting. He was quite offhand and said he could do it but I'd have to come back in an hour as he was busy. No one else in the shop.
