If you're craving Filipino food in the city, this is the place to go so you don't have to go too far. It's a pretty small hole in the wall type place with only bar seating, so don't expect too much conversation with your buddies here. I came for lunch by myself and it was perfect for that. The staff were all really nice and made sure I understood the menu and that I was enjoying the meal. Really good price-quality-portion size! I ordered a combo so that I can try different dishes and had food leftover for my lunch the next ... read more
The chicken dish at first glance looked like was fatty or oily, and burned at the bottom, but the first bite blew me away. Amazingly well flavored chicken with a little BBQ char taste to it. And the egg served on the garlic rice perfectly round out the dish. Lumpias We crisp, not too oily. Also the beef with spices was delicious. Staff was helpful, will be coming back.
Hmmm... Maybe we didn't order the best dishes or it's not as great to-go but I thought the food was just ok considering how popular the place seemed. My Mom and I ordered the tapsilog, palabok, lumpia, and buko pie. The tapsilog and lumpia were pretty good but the palabok was too salty and the buko pie seemed to have been made from a cake mix? There was no buko in it and the texture was kind of like a cheesecake.
Interesting.. something different and that's what I liked about this spot. The sunnyside up egg over garlic flavored rice is a winner. But the flavor of the Sisigsilog, was way to salty. I couldn't tell that I was eating shredded chicken! Service was great and very friendly. Small space which can be crowded at times. Definitely worth a try, maybe not the sisig..
I had been looking for a Filipino restaurant while in San Francisco and happily stumbled upon this place. It occupied a little nook near downtown where we were greeted upon entry. We sat at the bar which overlooking the kitchen because we like to see our food being made. The food came out fast and was really good--not as good as the Filipino breakfast in the Philippines, but still good.
