I joined the Y solely for the fact that my son could attend their summer camp. Not for one second have I regretted that choice. It went from that to him doing swim lessons, my daughter doing gymnastics, and giving my family an outlet and space for us to do things together that we normally wouldn't have the ability to. From the camp counselors, to the front desk staff, the swim instructors, every single person I've come in contact with at this facility has always been nothing short of warm and welcoming.
I joined the Upper Perk YMCA to improve my health and hopefully drop weight. The locker room for the women is always very clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I love both the inside and outside pools which are always clean. I highly recommend this YMCA.
Overall clean and welcoming environment however the staff are hit or miss for kindness and basic respect, especially in the kids zone. I have a 4 yr old son with developmental delays, seizures, etc- doesn’t always understand even one step directions. One particular staff member I’ve noted multiple times speaking to my kids much harsher than the others. Little to no patience or kindness from her. If watching children and cleaning a play room after closing is too stressful then they shouldn’t be working said job.

Absolutely ridiculous. Fun and games until a child has a heat stroke while your miserable life guards text and yell at kids for touching the sprinklers.
The outdoor pool is a fun place for kids. However we had a negative experience recently. Some other kiddos had been borrowing my 3 year old’s toys which was fine. When we were ready to get out of the pool, I kindly retrieved them and placed them into our bag and put our towels on top. It was all on our deck chair. We had a snack and went to the attached playground. When we came back I noticed our bags uncovered and most of the toys gone. I looked around for a little while and finally noticed some kids banging one of my son’s... read more
