For over 20 years I have taken my dogs to Village Square in Portola Valley. Circumstance and scheduling had us at the Redwood City location this week. I was nervous to not be at our usual location but from the first moments with Shakura, any hesitation disappeared - my dog City (and I) loved her immediately. I have been coming here for five years and have always had a great experience. The staff is caring and knowledgeable , they make a special effort to make sure all my questions are answered, and they clearly love animals. My dog is not great with being handled by strangers but she was about as comfortable as I've ever seen her in this situation.

I feel compelled to warn others about the appalling level of customer service and complete lack of empathy at this vet. The receptionist was rude, dismissive, and acted as though I was inconveniencing her by asking simple questions about my pet's test results. Despite multiple calls and emails, I received no helpful information at a time when I was very concerned about my pets health. Don't take your pets here. Not only is the place always dirty and not well maintained. When you're dealing with a stressful situation with your pet they will delay getting you results and display a complete lack of awareness or empathy for your situation. I paid over $1300 in testing for them to give a timeline to expect calls about results that ultimately was not met. Great experience they referred me out to Sage and Specialist for my kitties case but they call to check up on him and see how we were doing to make sure he got taken care of.
