When my mother passed in 2020, Wendt handled everything. They exceeded our expectations in every possible way. When my father passed 6 years later, Wendt was once again called upon to handle things. Once again, they exceeded our expectations. They are a kind and compassionate group of professionals and they are the only place I will ever trust to take care of friends or family.
During one of the hardest moments of our lives, Wendt Funeral Home went above and beyond for our family. Their compassion, patience, and attention to detail were truly remarkable. They treated our loved one — and all of us — with dignity, respect, and genuine care. We never felt rushed or alone, and that meant everything. We are forever thankful for their support and kindness. From the moment I received works the funeral home was receiving my sister I was met with nothing but the most warm, kind service from Earl and his staff. The entire process was difficult for me understandably because my sister passed so suddenly, but Earl was patient with me and insisted that we were gonna get through the process to take care of things and when he said “we” I knew she was in good hands. The passing of our Mother, Shirley Elaine Wallace Nelson, this past Spring brings to an end our decades long association with Buck, Boo, et.al. as the rest of our families have migrated away from the Quad cities. Grandparents on both sides, two Uncles and their wives, Cousins unnumbered, our father George H. Nelson in 2004, and finally the Matriarch of the family.
