Leaked air at first, but got it to work fine This leaked some air at first, but I used some silicone lubricant on all the join-points and it stopped sucking air. This is great as an in-line filter because the design allows for little to no drop in effective water flow and movement of a suction-driven vacuum device head with increasing level of fullness, unlike simple screen traps.
Every pool should have one! This looks like my vacuum cleaner. It collects all the leaves, debris, and (sadly) paint chips from my gunite pool. Keeps a lot of junk out of the sand filter and is easy to install and empty.

Effective and essential when paired with my Zodiac pool sweep This works extremely well. I would think it will keep my Pentair DT filter cleaner. I installed mine just outside the suction inlet.
Great product. I use this along with a skimmer sock. It keeps a lot of debris out of my pool filters. I deducted a star for the design. There is a rubber part at the bottom that sometimes needs a little coaxing to work. The canister must be full of water, upright and in the pool or it will suck air. It cannot turn on its side. As long as you fill it with water and ensure it is upright, it works well.
