Vortex is REAL this is a must have especially if your skimmer has lower suction So my pool copings are beginning to crumble and drop concrete in my pool on a house I just bought. Better than the Hayward leaf canisters! I've used the Hayward leaf canisters prior to this Zodiac Cyclonic leaf canister...and all I can say is that I much prefer this design over the Hayward. The Hayward lays sideways in your pool, and as a result, part of the seal at the top of the Hayward canister is out of the water. Works great! Wonderful value. The key to this product is to attach it as close to the skimmer as possible, which keeps it up right. I had no issues when I read another reviewer's comments. It does reduce the flow to the MX8 slightly, but not enough to reduce the cleaning power.
