Good leaf basket, but algea magnet First of all, I will say that I really do like this leaf basket because it does catch the leaves before they get to the pump. But if you have an algae problem, this thing attracts it and becomes a breeding ground for more algea. The handle's design makes it very difficult if not impossible to scrub all of the algea out because there are tiny slits up and down the handle. After using a toothbrush and even a pipe cleaning brush, I couldn't get all of the algea out.

A tornado of leaves We have always had a leaf catcher on our Kreepy Krawley. The one we used, had a fine mesh bag that would catch everything, including dog hair. At first that was nice, because it kept the pool filter cleaner longer. Eventually we realized that the bag would get clogged very easily and make our filter work extra trying to suck water through a thin mesh of hair and small leaves.
