It does an outstanding job in my Intex 32' x 16' x 52" Ultra Frame Rectangular Swimming Pool, with the pump it originally came with that does 2,650 gallons per hours. THIS VACUUM DOES THE JOB!!! i love this vacuum!!! i only wish I had a bigger filter pump. You have to make absolutely certain that the hose is totally filled with the pool water and no air is trapped or your filter will loose it prime. I am impatient so I often get into the pool and guide the vacuum around which actually does the job in more than half the time. The design is genius Great invention! Gets the job done, but not as dummy-friendly as I need. This was the first pool vacuum I've ever owned. I "inherited" a pool with my home purchase and have a very limited knowledge of pool care. This vacuum gets the job done, but requires supervision. It's stopped many times for me and I'm going to admit that most of that may be user-error or naivete, but this is not as dummy friendly as I needed it to be. Valve broke, but easily repaired The valve broke after I'd had this for several months. Looked on Amazon and I think for $15 got a new one and easily replaced it. Now I'm going on my second season. Very easy to use and keeps my pool very clean.
very good pool cleaner for price This is my 2nd barracuda ranger I've purchased. The 1st one would have lasted longer had I not left it laying out in the sun all the time. The only drawback is the ranger pumps the debris into the pool pump resulting in a clogged filter cartridge. Meaning turning off the pump and taking the pool pump apart to clean the filter every time I ran the ranger.
