Better than pushing a vacuum. It's okay and saves me time. Since I'm essentially lazy for pool upkeep, this is pretty cool. It does leave spots in the middle and has climbed the wall a couple times, but I can do a quick sweep with the hand vacuum to catch the stuff in the middle. It gets caught on the stairs once in a while, but not often enough to cause a big problem for me. It usually frees itself. We use it in an 18x36 above ground oval with entry steps. Works very well! I have a 27' above ground pool and for the money it certainly does a lot of work. It covers the entire bottom of the pool. The only thing required is tilting the return nozzle down to the center of pool and this aids in getting full coverage.All I really do is add chorine and this product does the cleaning.
Runs like a Shark!!! Put this in the pool, hooked up and off she went! Great suction, wonderful odd pattern in a 4.5 ft deep 28 ft diameter above ground with heavy duty liner and a few wrinkles...never once stopped nor did it crawl the walls. Have 1.5 HP sand filter and it runs on this great!! Had a little problem getting the elbow adapter to go through the front of the skimmer, so I took off the round top at the back of the skimmer and went that way. Need more instructions The Baracuda works well for our above ground pool. Not sure if we are using it correctly, but, it stops working after about 15 to 20 minutes on the filter setting of our filter dial. Have not tried the waste setting but doing so we could not leave it unattended due to the water draining to the bottom of the skimmer opening. When it works it works great, just need to learn how to use it.
Great vacuum for Intex pool I purchased this to use with an 18' Intex Easy Set vinyl pool. I no longer use the Intex factory pump and filter, but rather a sand filter and pump from Hayward, so I cannot guarantee it would work with an Intex pump. I purchased the Baracuda Ranger because my pool is near trees, and ends up with too much dirt and debris on the pool floor, most of which is too small to be removed with a leaf net. great product I bought it to use in a below ground pool. Works great. I will have to replace the rubber suction pad after the season (6 months) but I am using it on a concrete pool. It also climbs the walls well.
