This program is very good. The counselors and most staff are excellent. However you are doing clients an injustice by not pushing AA and NA as the cornerstone of successful recovery. There is only one SMART recovery meeting in RI that I know of which is not nearly enough to build a network in recovery or have successful sobriety. Also it is absolutely unacceptable that over a year and a half into covid you are still using it as an excuse to not allow commitments into the building. The administration should be working with bo... read more

I have found the counseling, TA and nursing staff to be compassionate, kind and very knowledgeable. There is a low amount of staff that do make you feel like you are just a job and perhaps even look at us like addicts/drunks. The food has improved but is clearly not healthy. Steamed vegetables and better meals are needed. The point of not being able to have sealed food (even from Amazon) or taken from cafeteria on the units is bogus. The food and nutrition is definitely the worst part of the facility. Chelsea the clinical supervisor saved my life. The counselors definitely care about what they do and that shows through their work. The nursing staff is great and their are some staff that definitely exceed expectations. Zach, Justin, Meagan, Lynn,, Kim the intake nurse. The units are not the cleanest, and their isn't that much to do during the down time. The TA's are a hit or miss, some of them are extremely helpful and some just sit around and do nothing.... read more

The entire staff was helpful, caring, and knowledgeable. The nurses were instrumental in helping me feel healthy again. Rebecca, Tom, Sam, Lauren, Scott and Justin made my decision to stay for additional treatment extremely easy. The living conditions were decent but could use some improvements. I would also offer more healthy options in the cafeteria and provide more food for clients in their buildings. Overall I would recommend Adcare to anyone who is seeking help.
