Inexpensive place in a good location with kitchenette available.
Alamo Inn is the most comfortable and relaxing place I've ever stayed in the Rio Grande Valley. Keith and his staff are most gracious and personable; accommodating in very way. It's the best deal around too with low cost lodging and optional meal plans and cocktail hours. I've stayed in the Hummingbird Suite three times and love it!

The Alamo makes you feel like you are at home and not a hotel.
Alamo Inn is the most comfortable, convenient and accommodating establishment in the Texas Valley area! The prices are very low, they know birders want to get up early and they provide a help yourself kitchen stocked with yummy breakfast items and will even provide special requests. Again, this is provided for a low fee. The Inn is convenient to all of the Valley birding hotspots and is just off the Hwy 83 Expressway. Please book early as it is a very popular place to stay.
I've stayed at both the B&B and the apartments. It's a great place to go to bird watch, as well as explore the city!
I was recommended by the Wildlife Refuge, and I loved everything about the Alamo! Everyone was so nice and helpful when it came to birding, and since I'm a beginner it was much appreciated.
We have stayed here twice now and loved it each time. The rooms are cozy and the owner is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this place!
The Alamo has a great atmosphere and the rooms were very nice. The bird watching is neat and we always encourage our friends to check it out.
