Dr. McLawhorn performed a total hip replacement on me at Hospital for special surgery on August 14, 2019. Although my hip was a lot worse than expected he did an incredible job. I now need the other hip done and I will not let another surgeon touch me, only him. Thank you so much Dr. McLawhorn.
A first rate experience at HSS from day one. I had knee replacement surgery and Dr. McLawhorn and his team were excellent. Very thorough and professional in all aspects. The hospital is extremely efficient. He is very approachable in answering all of my questions and concerns. He also explained everything prior to the surgery as well and let me know afterwards the hard part starts (PT!). Dr. McLawhorn is a great asset to HSS and I highly recommend him.
From my 1st visit with Dr. McLawhorn I felt very confident about my hip replacement. I was in good hands & all went well. I have had a good recovery. Dr does both computer & robotic surgery & both legs are the same length🤒 HSS is a very efficient hospital for orthopedic surgery. I highly recommend both the Dr & hospital.

Dr. McLawhorn was my surgeon for my total hip replacement at Hospital for Special Surgery. When I went to him for pre-op protocol, I was a mess. I had excruciating chronic pain; my left hip had zero cartilage and it was all jammed up into my pelvis. On June 8th, the day of my surgery, the pain ended! Had a 6 month follow-up today - I am speed walking miles daily, hitting the gym, and frankly, I forget which side was the operated hip!
