Alta Vista Animal Hospital has the best Vet services in Montrose, CO. I have been using them over the last few years. We left their services for a bit when we had a bad exsperience with a doc on their staff that was very pushy and demanding, but is no longer working for them. We have been to every vet in this area and I believe we have come back to stay. Their newest doctor on staff is Dr. Emily, in whom we visited last week. I would never take my dog anywhere else. Dr Renee Rumrill has been my vet for years and she is thoughtful, brilliant, thorough and takes time to explore and diagnose with a gentle hand and a caring heart. Dr Johnson is also excellent, and when Dr Renee is unavailable I know we are in good hands. The techs are kind and capable, everyone remembers us. Feels like a “family practice” not just an animal clinic. Hands down, best vet experience you could hope for.

I highly recommend Alta Vista. I have 2 little chihuahua yorkie mix girls that need extra attention and care because we’ve had bad experiences at other places. This place takes all the one on one time you need. They get to know your baby and educate you. They have a very loving touch. They really care about pets and it shows 100%. This is our place from here on out. At the end I was fighting back the tears of relief and amount of love they put into their work.

Dr. Rumrill patiently listened as I explained the specific issues I had with my cat. Her recommendation was right on par with my own ideas. In this case, medication. She told me they had a short-term supply on hand, and would send an rx to my pharmacy. When I explained that I had not budgeted for the medication and was not sure I had enough to cover anything they might provide that day, she said she'd send in one of the assistants with the full amount due for the exam & meds while I checked my bank balance. New to me, Dr Emily, was awesome. I’ll be scheduling my veterinary visits around her availability for sure. Her diagnosis and treatments were spot on! We saw results within 24 hours! Love the office vibe and attitudes of the team too.
