I worked with Damon to secure my first home loan and the whole process was amazing, he responded at all times of the day almost any day of the week to help me and make this process go as smooth as possible. Genuinely a negative experience. And then they HOUND you for months with aggressively written direct mail pieces trying to scare you into purchasing more packages you don't need. The amount of "URGENT", "FINAL NOTICE", and messaging that makes you feel like you've done something wrong and will face financial difficulty, is PREDATORY. I would NOT recommend this company at all! Not to mention our loan was then sold twice before our 1st payment was due. Go through a CU for a mortgage. Avoid this crap company.
Transferred my mortgage to another servicer at $104K more than my mortgage balance. I had to call was told that my money was not transferred. Check cleared a month ago. Nothing but voice mails when I call. Looking yo file complaint with governing body. Should have done more research, many other reviews where American Portfolio tries to steal money when loans are transferred.
Charles Silva is one of best loan officers there is in this business! He was always prompt and considerate throughout me and my husbands process as first time home buyers! He explained everything in full detail and he still answers our questions anytime we need him! He dedicated his full attention towards getting our home! The process was smooth and exciting! I’ve met other lenders but he is awesome 👏🏾 no one like him!
We worked with Kent Cook from American Portfolio and he was excellent - he has a thorough knowledge of the process, gave the ideal level of communication, and he worked hard to get us the best rate possible. We will do our best to work with him again!!
