She has poor communication skills, and seemingly no training dealing with autistic people. She would pick a single word from a sentence I said, go on an unrelated tangent, and jump to false conclusions. It made her very hard to talk to, which made it very hard to get proper treatment. Would not recommend.
I had an appointment with Dr. Choudry and it was a terrible experience for me. She has a one size fits all approach when treating her patients; that does not work with mental illness. What may work for you may not work for others. She judged me without even knowing me and left some back handed comments. I would not recommend her; avoid at all costs.
Do not ever go see this doctor. She is rude and very demeaning. Doesnt listen at all. Could careless about how you feel. My brain chemistry has been altered by being on Ssri medication for too many years. I went to her for help and she made me feel like I was the most ignorant person ever. Bad decision made by Advocate. I thought they had higher standards than that.
Absolutely worst experience for my first time with a psychiatrist. She was not welcoming, very rude and arrogant , checked her phone during appointment, rushed through questions, interrupted, talked down to me, made me feel very small and ever more confused about my illness. As i cried she literally said nothing..... No I'm going to help you, no I understand what you are going thru. She may need some people training. Will never go back.
I was referred to Dr. Choudrhy because of a recent bout of acute bipolar mania. She has a terrible time with communication skills. She interrupted me several times and didn't seem to care about me. My biggest concern is that I have tardive dyskenisia which I believe was caused by all the years (12) taking Abilify. She just told me it was irreversible and actually raised the dosage. I can't believe she would not even be concerned about this side effect.
