My husband had wisdom teeth surgery scheduled for today at Aspen Dental in Ellsworth. We both took the day of work, drove ALL THE WAY to Ellsworth, only to walk in and be told “our systems are down we had no way to contact patients.” As if that’s a reasonable f**king excuse in 2023!!! EMAIL, TEXT, post online somewhere????? Disgusting and unprofessional. Being told “sorry for any inconvenience” is simply not going to cut it.
This office left me in worse condition than when I went in. I would've been better off not going at all. They mutilated me and charged me $1400 to do it.
When making first appointment I was told by them that they were in network. My insurance company says they are not in network. All I’m covered for is X-rays and cleaning. Instead I had multiple X-rays and no cleaning. Also an estimate for partial denture and 1 implant was going to cost $9,000!! Very deceiving.
The staff and doctor were friendly in general. They couldn't get my insurance coverage straight for some reason, so I had to call my insurance to get it sorted out properly. The big problem is they set appts for 4 of my kids, but in the midst of the exams, I find out they don't do treatment on kids. What? Why schedule the appts or at least tell us they won't do any treatment on kids. Be up front. Went in for severe tooth pain, the hygienist was not very nice. He poked my bad tooth directly, got angry at me for biting down due to the pain. Then proceeded to tell me with attitude “if we can’t get through this then we can’t help you”. When he finished he told me my teeth need a lot of work (which is fine) but then told me quite rudely “if you want dentures then continue with what you’re doing”. The worst of cooperate dentistry. The staff were friendly and it is a new building with modern equipment. I made an appointment for a free checkup and to have a regular cleaning and ended up with an estimate of over $6000. I have a dentist and periodontist in Florida but could not return this summer because of Covid. Your staff refused to do cleaning without the full regiment. At best it was a high pressure sales pitch. I left disappointed!
