Very close to the Christmas holiday, I had a problem with an inflamed gum. This had to be taken care as I was to have a hip replacement within several weeks. My dentist could find nothing of concern but to be on the safe side, she referred me to Dr. Bergens. This appointment was the Friday before Christmas. After xrays and an exam, he gave me two choices: try to heal the gum with antibiotics or open the gum with surgery. I choose the gum surgery which needed to be done quickly.
