After a wonderful first experience I selected Boca for my birthday dinner out with my wife. The server was half engaged and not very attentive which was very different from our first experience. I guess the serve staff can make a difference in your impression of a restaurant. Not only did we have to call him to the table to refresh our drinks, but dinner was served without the side dish we ordered. Loved the tasty food. Delicious creative recipes. Fish was cooked to perfection. Service was professional an pleasant. The general atmosphere is really cool. Could be in San Francisco or NYC. Nice to have a new restaurant like that in Sarasota. Didn't like the noise level at the end (why on earth do some restaurants put the music so loud??).
We love the idea of Boca Kitchen, the menu and the atmosphere. It is rather noisy however a fun and fresh environment for Sarasota. Servers have been consistently good and knowledgeable. Their Sunday brunch is also very nice.
I was disappointed that we received appetizers long before our drinks arrived. Drinks actually sat on the bar for approximately 10 minutes before someone, other than the waiter, delivered. This was our second experience. First experience was much better. Not sure we would go back. Extremely disappointed in the service.
Great spot and good food, especially the zucchini fries! The noise level is quite loud so it is difficult to carry on conversation.
Very noisy, food average. Been there twice, the tonic has been flat both times, did not bother filing complaint on this visit. Menu limited, but server was exceptional
This was our first time at Boca, recently opened within the past year in downtown Sarasota. It was a Friday night and the place was hopping. We sat upstairs. Unlike many Sarasota restaurants, the crowd that night was definitely younger and not too touristy. The restaurant atmosphere is vibrant. I had an excellent martini. We also had a glass of wine. The food is always great surrounded by a unique atmosphere. Every time we come to Boca, the service is phenomenal.
