Been here several times before Covid.. the lasagna WAS delicious. Recently dined there and was disappointed, the lasagna wasn’t quite as good as I remembered… the short rib meatball alongside the lasagna was cold and very salty.. Waitperson did bare minimal servicing our table.. Don’t need to go back…
Overall good but not great. All the “sister” restaurants in the chain (Trattoria dell’ Arte, Red Eye Grill, Cafè Fiorello) are on a much higher culinary level. High volume, theater crowd place, good for the tourists who don’t know better. I chose it because of the easier handicapped access (no steps downward to enter) offered for my companion. Otherwise, there are far more discriminating dining choices on Restaurant Row.
Their garlic bread, burrata and prosciutto were excellent. Unfortunately the eggplant parm appetizer arrived uncooked somehow - the cheese was melted but that was about it. The staff quickly took it away, took it off our bill, and brought a complimentary order. The dover sole was excellent - as was the truffle ravioli - and the margaritas! Great spot pre theater!
Best Italian meal I've had, really nice place, lovely ambience, reasonable prices,ovely staff.

The vegetable antipasto bar was fabulous and I am not even a vegetarian. That and the garlic loaf was more than enough food and it was delicious. I will definitely return.
We made a last minute reservation to have dinner after seeing Sweeney Todd ... so glad we did. I am sure the restaurant was quite more energetic as the evening went on, but for the time we were there (early dinner after the matinee) it was just right. Great venue in the heart of the Theatre district. The selection of entrees appeals to every palate. The steaks are sensational but large, so come with an appetite. The seasoned fries that accompany the steak were delicious and enough to share with 4 people. Our party started with a selection of anti pasta and grilled octopus, which was tender and nicely seasoned. The fish selections were also very tender and fresh.
